The Wii U was Nintendo’s follow-up to the widely successful Wii, but amidst an overall lack of interest to gamers it was met with mostly resistance.  The slogan “How U Will Play Next” was far from accurate and thanks to a lack of consumer understading of what the console on top of the scruitiny leveled against the library it was never much of a success.  Still, Fred has fond memories and he takes you through the journey of the Wii U from announcement to today.

  1. You keep referring to some “tablet controller” – must have missed this. I know my Wii U came with a Gamepad with a touchscreen.

It’s no more a tablet than a 3DS. Hence the name “Gamepad”.

    • Get Mario 3D World on that thing with your daughter Fred – a nice intro to 3D style without having to worry about the second stick.

    • You are correct. Frankly I never used the touchscreen gamepad and all this Switch talk did get me in the bad habit of referring to the Wii U gamepad as a tablet. My bad.
