NHL 2002 Quick Look
Of Fred’s 3 random games he has to cover this month, one was a sports game that apparently was the best hockey game on the PS2. NHL 2002, developed and published by EA, touts funny announcers, crazy gameplay mechanics, and some of the smoothest action for the generation. Fred gives it an initial go and if nothing else, exploits the unbalanced nature of the AI on both sides of the difficulty spectrum. More coverage and a review to follow, but here’s the initial 30 minutes and it ends with a Sum41 song, woo hoo game license cross-promotion!
Rocket Knight Adventures Initial Run/Quick Look
Rocket Knight Adventures is this month’s game club and a highly regarded part of the Genesis/Mega Drive library. Not only does it show off the hardware tricks that Konami was famous for but it’s also tough as nails. Having never played it, Fred jumps onto his console (and with a web cam so you can see all his goofy faces while playing) to make a first attempt at conquering it. Does he succeed?
Jam’s SNES Unboxing Video
Yes, it finally happened, Jam got a SNES. A retro console he never thought he would actually own due to the kinda crazy prices the games sell for in the UK. He appears very happy with this and wants to dedicate this video to good friend Mr. SieOne who has been a huge support to GH101 and to all the content we have provided in the past.
Fred’s 3 Mystery April Games Unboxing
Jam opened his 3 mystery games on Monday and now it’s Fred’s turn to reveal the 3 games he’s forced to cover in April
Jam’s Three Mystery Game Unboxing
Here at GH101 we have a new experiment: give someone the task to grab us three games on a budget and we have to cover them over the next month. Today is Jam’s unboxing, tomorrow is Fred’s. Over the course of April, both of us are being tasked to cover these games as if they were selected content for the site. This can be podcasts of the series these games are a part of, playthrough footage, articles, or the obvious review approach, are all on the table. Stay tuned and enjoy Jam’s unboxing below.
Retro Shop Finds: Mystery Gamecube 10-pack Unboxing
Fred and Brian unbox a mystery Gamecube 10-pack that could have any game in it. Check out what they find. Fred also notes a handful of Game Gear games he picked up for coverage in the upcoming weeks.
Battlefield Hardline – First 45 Minutes of Campaign Quick Look
Update 03/20/2015: Fred decided to play the whole game so now it’s part of a playlist that will autoplay if you start with the original video. Basically, it’s all automatic if you watch this.
Original Post: So Battlefield Hardline is hitting store shelves in the US on Tuesday and I cannot believe that they have yet to show off more than a handful of minutes of the game’s campaign. With Dead Space‘s Visceral games creating the campaign, you would think EA would put more push behind it whether or not it’s any good. Oh well, thanks to EA Early Access we got the opportunity to experience, and get some colorful commentary on, the first 45 minutes in this Quick Look. Check it out. (Please Note: This video is unplayable in some countries due to licensing issues, sorry, out of our hands).
Jam is Going to Play Blackpool, Are You?
Fresh on the cusp of Fred attending the Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwaukee, WI on April 11-12 (and having a panel), Jam is also attending a retro gaming convention across the pond in the UK, Play Blackpool. It will be at the beginning of May in Norbreck Castle in Blackpool and he even created a handy video to introduce it. Check it out and hit up Jam if you are planning to attend.

Alien Trilogy Quick Look
This month’s game club is Die Hard Trilogy and Alien Trilogy, two short “trilogy” titles released by Fox Interactive in the 32-bit era. We have already looked at one of the games, Die Hard Trilogy, and here for you is the quick look of Alien Trilogy
