Video Game Purists Ep 87: Fruit Cake Content
This week it’s musicals, Halloween fun, and a dissection of the Marvel Cinematic Universe before moving onto games in this short, but simply packed episode. Trees has continued to explore No Man’s Sky, impulse played Yoko Taro’s newest title Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars and jumped into game pass title Moonglow Bay. Both hosts also spent some time in Forza Horizon 5 and enjoyed this truly fun and gorgeous title. Fred wrapped up Titanfall 2, The Suffering, and for grins got 120% completion in Spyro the Dragon (Re-ignited). He also tried out Marvel’s Avengers with mixed results.
Video Game Purists Ep 86: Mocking Skill Point
This week Trees talks about his true current favorite game: the Peloton. Fred spends most of his time waiting for car repairs and watching movies. On the gaming front Trees continues to repair cars, play golf, and delve deeper into the original Spyro thanks to the facelift of the Re-Ignited trilogy. Trees also delves into the Series X version of one of his favorites, No Man’s Sky. Fred is chasing the Halloween dragon with varied success. Visage, a walking sim horror title on Game Pass, fails to keep his attention. Meanwhile hardcore action titles like The Suffering and Quake fill that gap nicely. He also took the time to look into N64 and Genesis titles released to Switch Online customers that have the Expansion Pack, and while there are clear flaws it’s not the disaster the Internet is harping on.
This episode’s closing song is the Halloween theme as remixed by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
Video Game Purists Ep 35: School of Pig Fish
This week Trees is going to HOA meetings while Fred is reading comics and watching bad horror movies like Midsommar. Gaming talks a bit about twitter before Trees expands on yet more time with No Man’s Sky, but also Sega Marine Fishing, and the newly released (and very popular) Genshin Impact. Fred is going mostly horror but manages to wrap Jak and Daxter before delving into the headache of the end of Resident Evil: Code Veronica, giving Condemned 2: Bloodshot a second chance after more than a decade, and big dumb fun with House of the Dead III.

Video Game Purists Ep 34: Sandworm!
This week it’s time to target Microsoft and the poor handling of pre-orders that happened earlier this week. Then Trees gets down to discussing No Man’s Sky, Prominence Poker, and a handful of Dreamcast titles. Fred is going all horror with the return of fall in The Sinking City and his first return to Resident Evil: Code Veronica X in over 10 years.

Video Game Purists Ep 30: Where’s the Fast Forward Button?
This week Fred has a personal tragedy, but the silver lining is good times were had in movies and shows. Moving on to games, Trees is winding down No Man’s Sky but getting into Train Simulator as a way to have another reason to play mobile games. Fred is struggling with Metal Gear Solid 2, Yakuza 0, and Bio Evil (a Resident Evil isometric game developed for the Genesis), but finds plenty to enjoy with Dead Rising.

Video Game Purists Ep 29: Hexagonal Planets and Mall Psychopaths
This week is all about revisiting old topics. Trees starts off talking about the post office until Fred steers the conversation to next gen console leaked prices. Trees has been playing a lot of No Man’s Sky and Picross on the Switch while Fred played Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and Dead Rising.

Video Game Purists Ep 27: A Little Sauced
This week things are winding down a bit but that doesn’t stop our brave hosts from enjoying the finer things in life like playing the Switch during a power outage and enjoying The Transformers in movie form. Trees is future planning for Kingdom Come: Deliverance leaving Game Pass, seeing the better life in No Man’s Sky, and finally purchasing Mr. Driller. Fred learned that Shadow of the Colossus on PS4, although beautiful, is not for him. On the other hand a cheap pick-up of Trine: Enhanced Edition (XB1) and Transformers: War for Cybertron (PC) are keeping a strong smile on his face.
