with 2 comments

Fred Rojas from Gaming History 101 and the B-Team podcast is joined by Josh “Colm” from the T4 show and Rob “Trees” from EZ Mode Unlocked to discuss the games in G4’s recent top 100 games of all times.  We start by discussing some of our issues with the games in the list and then hit the ground running talking about our personal experiences with many of the great games on the countdown.  Due to time constraints this first part covers games 100-60 with more to come in future weeks.  Check it out!

  1. I know this list may have been six years ago, but with Outrun having always, and still is, my favorite racing game of all time, I just want to say how dare you say that Rad Racer should have been on this list instead of Outrun.
Outrun was simply a far better game in all respects, and it was challenging but also fair, meaning you could get far into the game in only a few games, it’s replay value being in the different routes you could take while Rad Racer was just balls tough and took hours to get anywhere (I think I never got past the second stage and just gave up in the end).

Outrun is one of those games that if I see an arcade unit on my travels, I always stop whatever I am doing to have a game, especially if it is full sit down hydraulic version.
For my money, no other racing game has come close to Outrun’s awesomeness.
It is the game the all racing games after would by judged by.

    • Thanks for that reply and the Outrun love. I think we get deeper into Outrun on the Sega Arcade Classics episodes (can’t remember if its in Part 1 or 2 at the moment), but again we won’t pay it homage like you have here. This list was us discussing the G4 TV top 100, which was really a cop out to not having to do our own, haha.
