GHX Ep 1: The Incidental Resident Evil Show or Old Gamers
For the first official episode of Gaming History X, Fred is joined by co-host Trees to introduce the concept of the show. It eventually devolves into discussions about the legacy of the aged console gamer and of course Fred can’t shut up about Resident Evil 7.
Our GHX theme was originally created by Ozzed as DeDeDe Metal Remix and then remixed into the theme by Fred Rojas with permission. You can find all of Ozzed chiptunes at ozzed.net.
Closing theme is Go Tell Aunt Rhody from the Resident Evil 7 official soundtrack.

Podcast: What’s Your Favorite?
This week Fred is joined by special guest Rob “Trees” (formerly of EZ Mode Unlocked and GH101 alum) to ask, “What’s your favorite game?” They gather answers from the listeners and then have some fun with them.
Podcast: Exotic Appreciation
Believe it or not, Fred had special guest Rob “Trees” on from the former EZ Mode Unlocked podcast to discuss the history of exotic dancers in video games. Despite the controversial nature of this topic, there was a surprising number of dancers that were pivotal plot points, empowered men and women, and of course complete objectified disasters.
Podcast: Shadow of Rome Game Club
Between Mega Man games Inafune and a team from Capcom made a hybrid action/stealth title for the PS2 that re-created solving the murder of Julius Caesar. It released in February 2005, just one month before God of War, and provided one of the funniest, craziest, and most challenging game clubs we’ve tackled to date. Join Fred, Jam, and special guest Trees from EZMU as they conquer Shadow of Rome.
Podcast: Nom Nom Nom
Not only are we graced with guests Jam (@Jamalais) and GH101 alum Rob “Trees” (@Treeslounge00), but Strider gets a reboot. After that the main topic is all about food in video games stemming from a lesson best taught by “Weird Al” Yankovic: if you integrate food your product will see more success. Also introducing a new theme song by listener Jake McClenahan (@NeoJakeMcC) so let us know what you think.

Podcast: Blue Stinger Game Club
This week Rob “Trees” (@treeslounge00) joins us to celebrate the launch Dreamcast title Blue Stinger. Our game club covers the complete campaign with gameplay elements, plot, encounters, and level design. Enjoy a fun and hilarious show that might arguably be better than playing the game itself.
Podcast: Me Money Bin
This week Fred and Trees are discussing Capcom’s Disney games. In the 8-bit era Capcom received the Disney license and created a little game called DuckTales based on the popular Saturday morning cartoon. Not only was it a mass success, but it was an excellent game that gave way to a whole slew of 8-bit and 16-bit gems on Nintendo and Sega consoles.
Gaming History X: Speed Round
This week Fred is greeted by a whole bunch of guests: Rob “Trees” from EZ Mode Unlocked, Chip Cella from The B-Team, Eli “Sodoom” of Knuckleballer Radio and Shawn Freeman of both Knuckleballer and Zombie Cast. For this month’s GHX the guys are discussing various topics in speed rounds comparing contemporary game design to retro or classic game design.
Podcast: Hey Everybody It’s Tuesday!
This week we join the masses in our endless love for the one, the only, Ryan Davis. Fred is joined by Trees and we discuss the career of Ryan Davis, including some off the wall discussions about Jeff Gerstmann’s looks, and the end of the console team at GameSpot that gave way to the Giant Bomb web site. After some kind farewells the boys talk about Ryan’s other passion than gaming: movies. Specifically retro games licensed from movies that they really enjoy and from there the banter takes the show off the rails.
Both clips for the intro and outro are from episodes of the Giant Bombcast.
