VGP Ep 93: Twas the Night

This week is about gearing up for one of the biggest holidays of the year. As for gaming Trees continues to work through Halo Infinite and worked his way through all of The Gunk. Fred is busy getting blown away by the Matrix Unreal demo and Arkham Origins.
VGP Ep 92: There Were Awards?
This week there’s a lot of discussions about consumerism and the joys of such. We also briefly touch on The Game Awards. As for gaming, Trees has been working his way through Halo Infinite while Fred finally wraps Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Video Game Purists Ep 91: No Halo Yet
This week Trees embarks on a capitalistic block party while Fred does…very little. On the gaming front no one has played Halo Infinite yet, but Trees sank some hours into Car Mechanic Simulator, tried out the surprisingly good Kart Rider: Drift, and jumped into Series X/S exclusive Lawn Mowing Simulator. Fred tried The Forgotten City, briefly jumped into Arkham Origins, but spent most of his time continuing to love Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Video Game Purists Ep 90: Barn Stuff
This week is all about setting up for Christmas and oil-soaked food. On the gaming front Trees has finally 100 percent completed Maneater, DLC and all, as well as rounding out the end of Picross Sega. The real highlight is the new CMS 2021 DLC that includes Jaguars and Pugatis. Fred has been continuing to enjoy Final Fantasy VII Remake and taking his RPG interests to a whole new level with the tabletop game Hero Quest (yes, that one from the early 90s) and the PC indie darling Wildermyth.
Video Game Purists Ep 88: Turning 20
This week is more topical than anything. After Trees and Fred discuss their brief outings, there are discussions on porn (crypto and gaming), movies, and the 20th Anniversaries of Xbox and Gamecube. On the gaming front Trees is sticking with Voice of Cards and enjoying more Forza Horizon 5 while Fred is playing the new Magic: The Gathering expansion and Ghostbusters Remastered.
Video Game Purists Ep 87: Fruit Cake Content
This week it’s musicals, Halloween fun, and a dissection of the Marvel Cinematic Universe before moving onto games in this short, but simply packed episode. Trees has continued to explore No Man’s Sky, impulse played Yoko Taro’s newest title Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars and jumped into game pass title Moonglow Bay. Both hosts also spent some time in Forza Horizon 5 and enjoyed this truly fun and gorgeous title. Fred wrapped up Titanfall 2, The Suffering, and for grins got 120% completion in Spyro the Dragon (Re-ignited). He also tried out Marvel’s Avengers with mixed results.
Video Game Purists Ep 86: Mocking Skill Point
This week Trees talks about his true current favorite game: the Peloton. Fred spends most of his time waiting for car repairs and watching movies. On the gaming front Trees continues to repair cars, play golf, and delve deeper into the original Spyro thanks to the facelift of the Re-Ignited trilogy. Trees also delves into the Series X version of one of his favorites, No Man’s Sky. Fred is chasing the Halloween dragon with varied success. Visage, a walking sim horror title on Game Pass, fails to keep his attention. Meanwhile hardcore action titles like The Suffering and Quake fill that gap nicely. He also took the time to look into N64 and Genesis titles released to Switch Online customers that have the Expansion Pack, and while there are clear flaws it’s not the disaster the Internet is harping on.
This episode’s closing song is the Halloween theme as remixed by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
Video Game Purists Ep 85: Sports Can Be Fun
After a week off Trees tells tales of building offices and winderizing cabins while Fred sat around doing a whole lot of nothing much. On the gaming front, similarities are abound. Trees has delved into the Spyro Trilogy, continues to work through the Sega version of Picross, dove into Jaguar DLC in Car Mechanic Simlulator 2021, and wrapped up Maneater‘s DLC. He also has been doing pinata hunting under duress with Viva Pinata and enjoying some rounds on the course with PGA Tour 2K21. Fred has been working through Shocktober with Castlevania titles on the N64, returned to Agony, and finally picked up Returnal. His main focus was working through all of Alan Wake Remastered.
Video Game Purists Ep 84: Aquatic Cannibalism
This week is all about the weddings on the personal front, with Trees loving on the final Smash character and hating on Fred’s favorite Xbox controllers. On the gaming front, Trees has been exploring fish on fish crimes with Feed & Grow Fish and I am Fish. Of course he’s also still fixing up cars in Car Mechanic Simulator and journeying into a new Game Pass title with Sable. Fred has wrapped up some games and gone full Shocktober with the lackluster end of Tender Loving Care and replaying the DLC of Resident Evil 7. He also tried the demo of Stranger in Paradise: Final Fantasy and overthought the purchase of Alan Wake Remastered.
